Eliese Kammeyer, 1902-2003, Concordia

Eliese Kammeyer, 101, of Concordia, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, at the Lutheran Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Concordia.

She was born March 13, 1902, in Concordia, a daughter of John and Caroline Haesemeyer Kammeyer.

Miss Kammeyer lived most of her life in the St. Louis and Concordia areas. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in St. Louis and St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Concordia. She was a retired school teacher. She taught in a one-room school in Atchison, Kan., and in Nebraska. She also taught primary grades at Zion Lutheran and Holy Cross Lutheran Schools in St. Louis. She served on the Synod Bodies for Religious Education for the Mentally Retarded. She was a Concordia High School graduate. She took one year of teacher education in Seward, Neb., and attended St. Louis University. She received a master's degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She enjoyed doing handwork and crafts, reading, walking and Cardinals' baseball.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by four brothers and five sisters.

Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. R. Lee Hagan officiating.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Lutheran Good Shepherd Nursing Home in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia.
